Plainfield YWCA - Boiler Upgrade
- Steam and Hydronic Boiler Efficiency Upgrade
IB Miller, Inc., Hughes Environmental, FSG and PSE&G joined forces working together to upgrade the outdated steam and hydronic boiler systems at the YWCA of Central New Jersey in Plainfield. This project was initiated through the PSE&G Small Business Direct Install Program which provides Green Solutions for PSE&G customers. Both boiler systems at the YWCA were outdated and running inefficiently with high operating costs. These boilers were not providing adequate comfort for the Y community members. IB Miller, Inc., the boiler specialist for the PSE&G program, installed 1 new Weil-Mclain 1488 gas fired steam boiler to cover the capacity of the steam system, and 1 new Weil-Mclain Ultra 750 gas fired hydronic condensing boiler with 1 new Weil-Mclain Ultra 155 gas fired hydronic condensing boiler, connecting though a primary loop to cover the capacity of the hydronic system. Ultimately this boiler upgrade is projected to save the YWCA close to $25,000 per year on energy expenses while providing the most efficient comfort possible.
